Chapter 1 - The Boy
“When can this ever end…?” Disgusted, Tom thought to himself. “They are always quarreling.”
“You better clean up your room at this instant!” Housekeeper shouted.
“Nah can’t you see how fking busy I am now? Later will you?” Mum rebutted.
Tom, aged 14, son of a prostitute, lives with his mother in the dangerous street by the forest. Dressed in torn and tattered clothes and looking skinny for his age.
He has those bright, green eyes that people get captivated with at first sight.
Gonna get out of this place!” Tom decided. With this, he ran to the heart of the forest, where his one and only companion is. Over there, he is in his own world, free of troubles.
“You are always here for me.” Tom smiled, patting his buddy. An old grand piano. He opened the lid and sat on the piano bench. “Hmmm…” He relaxed. Closing his eyes, he played his favourite melody that he heard from the TV once.
Melodious tunes came from the piano, that even little animals came out to enjoy the tune.
“This never fails to cheer me up...” Lying on the piano, he fell asleep.
